Sports & Whatever is exactly what it sounds like: sports, sure, but also the culture around it, the politics tangled up in it, and whatever else feels worth writing about on a given day. Games matter, but so does everything that happens around them — the business decisions, the cultural moments, the arguments that spill off the field and into everything else.

Expect analysis that goes past the box score, commentary that doesn’t pretend to be neutral when neutral isn’t honest, and the occasional detour into whatever’s actually on my mind that week. No pretense of a tidy beat. If it’s interesting and I have something to say about it, it’s fair game.
